Barbara "Dee" Lee, age 65, was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, friend, and provider.
She peacefully departed this life to be with the Lord on September 28, 2026, at 9:07 a.m., at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Barbara was born on May 6, 1961, in Sulphur, Louisiana, to the late Robert E. Lee and Bernice Prater Lee. In June 1995, Barbara accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Christian Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Edward Alexander Jr. She was a member at Riverside Baptist Church for over ten years.
Barbara found joy in the simple things that made life special. She loved decorating, sewing, baking, shopping, attending church, and spending time with family and friends. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, who held a very special place in her heart.
Barbara was a hardworking and dedicated woman. She worked as a cook at Cal-Cam Hospital in Sulphur, Louisiana, and later served as a driver for Holston Ambulance Service. She went on to work for several years at Benjamin's Academy, where she obtained her commercial driver's license. It was there that she eventually retired.
On March 29, 2026, Barbara joined Mount Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Elmore Garner. She remained an active and faithful member of the church until her passing Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Robert E. Lee and Bernice Prater Lee.
Barbara leaves to cherish her beautiful memory three daughters, Serrisa Lee and Yolanda (Kevin) Wilson of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Tiffanes Lee of Aurora, Colorado; one sister, Linda Lee of Texas; two brothers, Phillip Lee (Kelly) of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and James Lee of Gonzales, Louisiana; two nephews, Jerrith Lee and Jeremy Lee, both of Texas; one niece, Rena Cox of Texas; five great-nieces, Tiara Lee, Taylor Cox, Sidney Cox, Kiara Lee, and Jayci Lee, all of Texas; and eleven grandchildren, Tyler Williams of Rhode Island; Shandon Sanders of Atlanta, Georgia;
Brandon Lee of North Carolina; Jerimiah Lee, Kylen Brown, Landon Lee, and Allen (Khi) Watson, all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and Jayla Lee, Hailey Lee, Jazlynn Parker, and Jasper Parker Ill, all of Aurora, Colorado. She also leaves a host of extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Barbara will be remembered as a strong woman of God whose heart was always open to others.
She was generous, giving without hesitation, and known for being honest, straightforward, and genuine. She had a kind word for everyone she encountered and never met a stranger. Her love for her family, her faith in God, and the warmth she shared with others will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Though she is no longer with us in the physical sense, the love she gave, the memories she created, and the lives she touched will continue to live on through her family and friends. Her earthly journey is complete, but her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will never be forgotten.
