Bobby Edward Cook, 64, went home to be with The Lord Jesus Christ on the morning of May 30, 2023. He was the first born son of 1st Class Sargeant Ammunition Specialist James L. Cook and Shirley A. Cook. Bobby was born in Los Angeles, California. As a military family they moved around quite often until permanently residing in his mother's hometown of Lake Charles, La.
Bobby was a graduate of Lake Charles High School, Class of 1978. While at Lake Charles High Bobby played and started all four years for the Wildcats football team. He was the hardest hitting 5'8" , linebacker (#53) that the Wildcats had ever seen. Bobby was on the 1977 4-AAAA District Selection Team, bringing home an undefeated season and winning the 4-AAAA District title for the Lake Charles High Wildcats during his senior year. Bobby worked for the Lake Charles American Press and The Plantation House on Broad St. before joining the United States Navy and relocating to Texas.
Seaman Bobby E. Cook was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He loved sailing the ocean blue. He loved his family, living hours away from home in Texas, he called his brothers daily and visited his mother yearly while she was still living. Bobby was full of life, he always had a life lesson quote for every situation. He enjoyed music, visiting with friends, bowling, and putt-putt golf. He will be missed greatly. PEACE OUT BOBBY.
Bobby is preceded in death by his father and mother 1st Class Sargeant Ammunition Specialist James L. Cook of Mexico and Shirley Ford Cook of Louisiana, his only son Johnathan Cook of Texas, and his beloved grandmother Georgia (Big Momma) Hollier of Louisiana.
Bobby leaves behind, to cherish his memories, his only daughter Lasondra S. Cook of Texas, his two brothers and their wives, James L. (Tiesha) Cook of Atlanta Ga., Mark A. (Cassie) Cook of Lake Charles, La. And a host of neices, nephews, Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends in LA., TX., and CA.
