Calvin (Butch) Gauthier of Lake Charles, LA, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, at the age of 75, surrounded by family. Born in Cameron, LA, on September 12, 1949, Butch was known for his easygoing and friendly demeanor, which made him beloved by many.

Throughout his life, he cherished the simple pleasures. He enjoyed fishing and crabbing when he could. His passion and knowledge of cars made him to man to see about a problem. He could frequently be found relaxing to the soulful sounds of the blues.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents Paul Gauthier and Annabelle Hebert Gauthier; siblings, Carolyn (Willie) Bargeman, and Carl Ben Gauthier; paternal and maternal grandparents, and several aunts.

Left to cherish his memory is his Aunt Imogene (Bud) Welch; sister, Cynthia (Ronnie) Jackson; children, Toloyne (Derek) Lemelle, Calvin Gauthier Jr, Kendrick Bertrand, Nakeisha (Eric) Bordelon, and Josie Simon; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, five nieces, one nephew, and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
