Demetrius Quinn Malveaux, born on April 13, 1970, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2024. He was the beloved son of Maudra Malveaux and Willie Fred Malveaux.
Demetrius graduated from Washington-Marion High School in 1988. His passion for basketball was unmatched; he lived and breathed the sport. He dedicated much of his time to mentoring young athletes, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and providing them with opportunities to excel. Whether he was talking about basketball or reminiscing about his own playing days, his love for the game was evident.
In addition to his love for basketball, Demetrius had a passion for taking pictures, meeting new people, and making lasting memories. He cherished capturing moments and connecting with others, always bringing joy and positivity into every interaction.
He was preceded in death by his mother Maudra, and his grandparents Christine and Austin Dyer. Demetrius is survived by his father Willie Fred Malveaux, his brothers Andre Malveaux and William Randolph (Stephanie Randolph), his sister Wynett Guy (John Guy), and his children: Demetrius Mitchell, Quelon Schultz, Rollando DeRuso, Dejah Malveaux, Dcorrion Price, and Khloe Malveaux. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Morgan Mitchell, Skylar Mitchell, Ni Raya Mitchell, Cane Schultz, Vega Schultz, and Damari Price, as well as other family members and friends.
