Our Matriarch & Mother, Eula Marie (Clark) Declouet, 101 years of age was born on Palm Sunday morning on April 5, 1925, in Sweetlake, La. and departed this life on Easter Sunday morning April 5, 2026.
She was the eldest of 10 children. She met and married the love of her life Latin J. Declouet in 1947 and in that union 3 children were born, Latin Jr, Betty Jean, & Arnold James Declouet.
She left Louisiana in 1962 moved to Pacoima, California and live there until 1980. She moved back to Lake Charles, La. to help care for her mother.
Our mother was a woman of strength, wisdom and kindness. She had a contagious smile and loved the Lord. She didn't send us to church; she brought us to church. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior. She had a contagious compassion and warmth toward others and loved to cook. She was greatly loved by family. When it was time to celebrate for holidays and Sunday meals, it was always a feast. She taught us to always enjoy each other's company. She taught us to always confirm our truths in our lives with God and to always acknowledge the Lord, to let the Lord handle the matters in our lives daily. Daily she would read & study her bible. Very strong in her faith concerning the Lord.
She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, worked at Price Pfister on the assembly line for many years before retiring. Worked two jobs at times to provide for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Julia Celestine-Clark, her husband Latin J Declouet, her son, Latin J. Declouet, Jr. & grandson Devin Grant, her siblings Joseph Donald Clark, Ella Clark-Moore, Stanley Clark, Rose Clark-Charles, Elliot Clark Sr., Louise Clark-King, Horace Guillory Clark, Wilford Lee Clark and Johnny Clark.
She leaves to cherish her memories, Betty Declouet-Gasaway (Billy), and Arnold James Declouet (Rosa) and her youngest brother Henry Clark-Palmdale, California, Her (8) grandchildren, (23) great grandchildren and (10) great-great grandchildren. Host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Last but certainly not least with five (5) generations between them Kamari and his great-great grandmother would continually have conversations at her bedside laughing, talking and hugs all the time.
