Gregory Lee Fontenot Sr., was born in Lake Charles, La., to the late Leo Fontenot of Houston, Texas and Louise Orphey Kaough of Lake Charles, LA. He lived his teenage years in Crowley, LA. Gregory later joined Gary Job Corps. He returned to Lake Charles to make it his home. He held many trades to include Longshoremen, Concrete Finisher and Construction Laborer. His career trades took him to varies States for work. His passion was cooking. If you ask him, he was a top Chef.

Gregory was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Gwen Paul, his son Gregory Lee Fontenot Jr, and his sister Ester Fontenot Malveaux.

Gregory leaves to mourn and cherished memories are his daughter, Delisa (Darrell) Malveaux Sr., of Lake Charles, La. Two sons, Coby (Kara Williams) Fontenot Sr. and Cory Fontenot of Lake Charles, La. Three sisters; Norma Demouchet of Lake Charles La., Sheila Fontenot-Ceasar of Crowley, La. Sandra (David) Jacob Sr. of Austin, Tx. Two Uncles; Howard (Faye) Orphey of Houston, Tx., and Willie Singleton Jr. of Lake Charles La. His Grandchildren: Tamiya Jordan, Temeya Jordan, Darrell Malveaux Jr., Darrien Malveaux, Daja Francis, Deajah Francis, Dedric Wayne Levier, Coby Lee Paul Jr., Ca'von Lee Paul and Carmon Lee Paul of Lake Charles, La. Two Great-Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
