Harry James Coward Sr. was born to the parentage of the late Lamart and Olivia Johnwell Coward. A native of Eunice, Louisiana, he moved to California at an early age for many years, then relocated to Lake Charles, LA making it home. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church where he was a dedicated faithful member and an Usher for many years. Harry was a retired demolition and Heavy Equipment Operator. After retiring, he went to work at U-Haul as a Transfer Driver.

He was a respectable, strict and stern father of five sons and two daughters and was proud of their success. He was a family oriented man that loved his grandchildren, cooking for them as well as camping and traveling. Harry had a great love for traveling, Trail Rides, Zydeco Music and dancing.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lamart and Olivia Coward and daughter, Kimberly Coward.

He leaves to cherish his love and fond memories, his beautiful wife of fifty-seven years, Joyce Mary Mouton Coward; five sons, Harry Coward II (Gabrielle), Harry Coward Jr. (Suzelle), Glen J. Pradier (Francis Yvonne), Larry J. Pradier (Yolanda) and Clifton Pradier; two daughters, LeAnn Coward and Gail (Skipper) Thomas Sr.; two brothers, Jerry Coward and Jimmy (Margaret) Coward; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren whom he adored and loved spending time with, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
