James Colby (CoCo) Phipps, age 45, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2020, at Lafayette General in Lafayette, LA. He was born on June 20, 1975, in Memphis, TN and was relocated to Lake Charles, LA during his formative years. He was a 1993 graduate of Washington-Marion Magnet High School. He had a passion for living life, and his enthusiasm was contagious.

He is survived by his mother, Semoyen Jackson; two sons, Dyamond Phipps and James Phipps Jr.; three daughters, Alicia Lafleur, Shaniesha Ward, and Jada Phipps; one grandchild, Annya Coleman; all the children that he loved and who loved him; one brother from birth, John Phipps; five sisters, Johnnqueline Joseph, Valance Howard, LeTricia Campbell; Tisha Chretien, and Ingra Lemelle; brothers, Alvin Joseph and Derrick Joseph, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

James was preceded in death by a grandchild, Melanie Phipps.

His funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Fondel Memorial Chapel. Visitation is from 9:00 to 11:00 am in the chapel. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Fondel Memorial Chapel.
