James was born in Lake Charles, LA where he was called home. He was proceeded in death by his parents Eugene and Madeline Bartie and his wife Jamiah Jackson and one great nephew Kacen Fisher

James went to Washington Marion High School and he also worked at Subway restaurant.

James leave behind two sister Sarah Fontenot and Denise Mitchell, 3 brother Eugene B. Bartie, Jimmy Lee Bartie, and Troy Bigelow. 7 nieces Daneisha Bartie, Quinneisha and Quinmeisha Fisher, Marqueisha Lee, Coreisha Bartie, Omeisha Bartie and Troshon Guy. 5 nephews Deandra Bartie ,Daquan Bartie, Deonte Bartie, Deonte Bartie, and Tromale Guy Jr, great nephew Romain Bartie, Deonte Moore, and Kaylei Caesar

James was well known in the community. He clowned and joked with everybody. He would have given you the shirt off his back. He loved to be around family friends
