It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother James Joe Joubert. James, affectionately known as Bebo, peacefully passed away on March 10, 2024, after bravely battling cancer.

Born on September 2, 1968, to Eldridge and Rita Pete Joubert in Sulphur, Louisiana. James, along with his famity, relocated to Lake Charles in 1971. He attended Washington Marion High School, where he excelled in track and found joy in weightlifting. Following his education, he joined the team at Paw Paws Seafood and cultivated cherished friendships while enjoying sports with his companions. Known for his open heart and infectious smile, James embraced everyone he encountered with kindness and warmth, leaving a lasting impact on those around him.

James held an unwavering devotion to his family and friends, a sentiment reciprocated by all who knew him. He is survived by his sisters, Dorothy A. Joubert, Patricia (Allen) Ardoin, Catherine A. (Andre) Chatman, all of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Georgia A. (Tommy) Dorsey of Corsicana, Texas, Delfene M. (Julian) of Humble, Texas, and brothers, Eldridge K. (Yolanda) Joubert, Edmund J. Joubert, Eldridge (Trineka) Hardy, Freddy Chustz, all of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Earl and Frank Chustz in Mesa, Arizona. Additionally, he leaves behind sixteen nieces and nephews, thirteen great-nieces and nephews, 1 great-great-niece, and numerous beloved aunts and uncles. He shared a special bond with his best friends, Kevin (Niki) Chretien, Gerald Lewis, and Slim.

James' absence is deeply felt by his family and the countless individuals whose lives he touched. The family extends their gratitude to Harbor Hospice, Fondel Memorial Chapel, and Mr. Alvin Cleveland for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, dear brother. You will always be in our hearts and memories.
