Jeanette "Janet" Kay Collins, 61 was born July 4,1959 to the late Woodman Collins and Pearl Darmon in Lafayette, Louisiana. She was raised in Iowa, Louisiana with her siblings. She was the last born of four children. Jeanette was educated at Iowa Elementary, Southside Middle, and Iowa High School. After graduating in 1977 she moved to Lake Charles and enrolled at Sowela Technical College. Jeanette accepted Jehovah at an early age. She saw to it that her children knew Jehovah as well and actively fellowshipped.

Her children were her life, and were always well taken cared of. She adored her grandchildren and shared a special bond with each of them. Jeanette leaves to cherish her memory her three children Darrison, Brittany, and Courtney Collins of Lake Charles; Shamus Darmon, her nephew whom was more like a son of Lake Charles; sisters Anna Zeno and Dianna Brown of Lake Charles, Annie-Jean Robinson of Houston, Texas, seven grandchildren, one godchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12,2020, in Fondel Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the chapel. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery under the direction of Fondel Memorial Chapel.
