Johnny Augusta was born August 16, 1952 in Lake Charles, LA to Eloise A. Williams and Edward Batiste. Johnny lived in Lake Charles all his life. He attended school in Lake Charles. He was previously affiliated with Union Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

As a young man, Johnny married Theresa Starks. To this union were born two children, Irene and Johnny Jr. Johnny and Theresa divorced after a few years of marriage. Later in life, Johnny had another daughter, Jayla Augusta.

Johnny worked as a laborer with Lake Charles Ice House, and served as a chef at Isle of Capri in its' early days.

Johnny was proceeded in death by his grandmother, Laura Thomas Augusta, grandfather, Curtis Augusta Sr, three aunts, and one uncle. Also preceding him in death were his two brothers, Jerry T. Williams, Sr. and Anthony Charles Augusta, Sr.

Johnny leaves to mourn his passing, mother, Eloise Williams, children Irene (Johnny) Perry-Madison, Johnny (Tina) Augusta, Jr., and Jayla Augusta all of Lake Charles; sisters, Laura (Gerald) Nelson of Lake Charles, Margie Augusta, and Betty Stringfellow both of Houston TX., He has 11 grandchildren including Ka'Deisha, Markeisha, Johneisha, Juaneisha, Johnny II, Johnas, and Jayden and 1 great-grandchild, Ja'Naiya. He has several nieces and nephews, including his favorite nephew Gerald.
