Kalin Jemel Stevens was born on January 15, 2002, to Ernie Jackson and Jacquetta D. Stevens in Lake Charles, LA. He was baptized at an early age under the leadership of Reverend Edward J. Alexander, Pastor of Christian Baptist Church in Lake Charles, LA.

He attended LaGrange Senior and Iowa High School in Lake Charles, LA. After high school, he worked at First Abundant Healthcare, as well as Ageless Healthcare. Kalin also worked a while in the construction industry.

Kalin had so much compassion for people. He always had the ability to make his family and friends laugh. He possessed that natural joy that brought others closer to him. He was such a loving and caring person in his own way. Kalin was a very selfless person who was always willing to help others when needed.

Mr. Kalin Stevens departed this earthly life on June 29, 2025, at the age of 23. He was preceded in death by his grandmother; Mrs. Anita Jiles; two uncles, Mr. Horace J. Stevens, Jr., and Mr. Carlos J. Stevens; and one aunt, Ms. Meycosia R. Jones.

He leaves to mourn, two children; his father, Ernie (Shameka) Jackson of Lake Charles, LA; his mother, Jacquetta D. Stevens of Lake Charles, LA; eight brothers, Kelin and Khylin Stevens of Lake Charles, LA; Julius Jackson, Keelyn Jackson, Justin Guillory, Jacobe Esclovon, Jerrick Prudhomme, and Christian Harmon; five sisters, Faith Gamble, Ha'Lee Jackson, Bailey Jackson, Zoey Jackson, and Callie Jackson; his grandfather, Ernest (Kathleen) Jackson of Lake Charles, LA; two grandmothers, Eva Mae Stevens and Brenda (Johnny) Reliford both of Lake Charles, LA; along with six aunts, Lytandia Stevens, Belita Cole, Juanette Stevens Johnson, Jaresa and Jasmine Jackson all of Lake Charles, LA; and Felicia Avery of Beaumont, TX; one great-aunt, Irma Moore, of Lake Charles, along with a host of nieces, cousins, and friends.
