Karl Edgar Saner Sr. received his wings on June 5, 2023 at 6:31pm, surrounded by his wife, five children, and loved ones.
Karl Edgar Saner Sr. was born on January 16,1960 in Lake Charles, La. to the late Josephine Willrich and James Saner. Including his bonus father the late Rogers Willrich Jr. He attended W.O. Boston High School where he joined the band and graduated in 1979. He then went on to attend Southern University in Baton Rouge, La. While attending Southern University he was apart of the Human Jukebox where he played the snare drum, and he became a member of the band fraternity known as Kappa Kappa Psi.
Later on in life he met the love of his life, Darlene Yancy, and a short few years later they united in marriage on January 11, 1988. Karl and Darlene went on to have five beautiful children. Karl worked for Cooper-heat as a level 4 technician for 12 years before early retirement. Being with his family and close friends brought him the most joy. Karl loved to Bass tournament fish, support his children and all of their accolades, cooking, traveling, and last but not least loving and supporting his wife.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 35 years Darlene Saner, son Karl (Amy) Saner/Yancy Jr., son Dexter Saner/Yancy, daughter Devin (Jeremy) Augustine, daughter Alexis Saner, all of Texas, son Dominique Saner of Lake Charles, La., two bonus sons Brian Chatman and Chris Chatman both of Lake Charles, La, two brothers Earl Saner and Oscar (Altha) Green both of Lake Charles, La., 16 Grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, Bonus brothers whom he shared a lifetime of joy with Charles (Marilyn) Avery, Willard (Keisha) LaVan, Joesph (Vanessa) Austin, John (Veronica) Goodly, Alton (Triss) Rideaux, Shawn Cummings, Gerald Allen, Lindsey Francis, Eugene (Stephine) White, Dr. Johnny Biddle Jr., Delwin Campbell, and Randy Alfred.
He was proceeded in life by his mother Josephine Willrich, father James Saner, Stepfather Rogers Willrich Jr., sister Joetta Brooks, brother Darrel Ray, and grandparents Earl and Ida Belle Ray
