Lawrence C. Bennett, Sr. (95) passed at his residence in Lake Charles, Louisiana surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Elizabeth, Louisiana and later moved to Lake Charles. He was a World War II Army veteran, where he received the Bronze Star, the Good Conduct Metal and the Victory Metal. He worked for Concrete Pipe Company until his retirement.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Lavince Bennett; his parents, Bessie Tate and Joe McGuire; his one sister; Ethel White; and three brothers, Jule McGuire, Arthur Bennett, and Jack Bennett; his son, Lawrence Bennett, Jr.; and his great grand-daughter, Darrelyn Bennett.

Survivors include his sons; Marvin (Rebecca) Bennett, Darrell, Sr. (Priscilla) Bennett, Anthony Bennett; his daughter Shirley (Raymond) Payne, all of Lake Charles, LA; 14 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 15,2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in Fondel Memorial Chapel with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Fondel Memorial Chapel.
