In this moment and forevermore, we celebrate the life of Lawrence "Pops" Ward Sr., who was born August 10, 1947, in Westlake, LA. Lawrence was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. He dedicated his career to the Calcasieu Parish Public Works Office in Sulphur, LA, from which he eventually retired.

Lawrence was a man of nobility and respect. He never sought praise or gratification for his actions. He cherished being outdoors, building and fixing things, while spending quality time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Ward Jr. and Alma Reado-Ward; son Clayton Ward; sister Lillie Watson; granddaughter Jessica Gibbs; grandson Josiah Fontenot; great-granddaughter Kaylee Gibbs.

Lawrence's spirit continues to live on through his beloved wife of 36 years, Nettie Louise Ward; his three daughters, Bobby Clement, Lolita Roberts, and Tahashee' Fontenot (Joshua); his two sons, Lawrence Ward Jr. and Chester Roberts; his three sisters, Carolyn Goodwin (Charles), Patricia Fontenot, and Catherine Ward; and his two brothers, Burnest Ward Sr. (Charity) and Melvin Ward Sr. (Angelia). He also leaves everlasting memories to a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
