Lucinda "Diamond" Hebert was born November 16, 1970, in Lafayette, Louisiana to the late Gloria and Jerry Jackson Sr. Born and raised in Welsh, Louisiana and she resided in Houston, TX. Most of her life, she was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Welsh, La. She worked at a daycare in Houston, TX for over 20 years.
Lucinda was a person of much joy, happiness and fun. Some of you may have known her as Piggy or Diamond. She was the life of any and every party she attended. Many will remember her as one that likes to turn up and have a good time. You may also know that she was a very overprotective and a very loving grandmother, wife, mother-in-law, daughter, sister, friend, cousin and so forth. Many also know that she loves children, as she was a daycare worker for over 20 years. Her spirit and energy led her to be known & loved by many.
She departed this life April 19, 2024, in Katy, TX at Methodist Houston Hospital.
She leaves her cherished memories to her husband, Leon Hebert Sr. of Houston, TX, her son, Leon Hebert Jr. (Donna) of Houston, TX; her grandson, Leon Hebert III "My Chair"; one brother, Jerry Jackson Sr. (Phyllis) of Welsh, La; 3 sisters, Geraldine Nixon (Earnest) and Lucgracious Prudhomme (Terry) both of Welsh, La and Jessie Senegal (Wendell) of Lafayette, La; her godchildren; Latoyia Collins of Lake Charles, LA & Malcolm Alfred Jr. of Killeen, TX; her godmother, Jeanell Vital and her godfather, Marshall Jackson (Louise) both of Welsh, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lucinda was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Faye Jackson; her sister, Coranell Jackson and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Her visitation will be Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 11AM to 2PM, at New Hope Baptist Church located at 205 Prudhomme St. in Welsh, with her funeral following at 2PM. Reverend Jerry Jackson Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Eastridge Cemetery in Welsh, under the direction of Fondel Funeral Home
