On Wednesday May 29, 2019, Luther Jones Burnett, our dear friend, passed away at the age of 82.

Luther was born on December 25, 1937 in Chadbourn, North Carolina to Carbon and Beatrice Chavis Burnett. He was an exceptional carpenter and handyman and a dedicated man of God at Tarsus Bible Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Luther was preceded in death by his father, Carbon, and his mother, Beatrice and both maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his daughter Betty Burnett, his niece Sharon Jones, and his cousin Ruth Locklear, of North Carolina. Leaving to cherish his life and memories are a hosts of close friends and relatives of Lake Charles, Louisiana and his dearly beloved companion and pet, Girly.

Visitation will begin at 8:30 AM, Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Tarsus Bible Baptist Church 2907 General Twining Street Lake Charles, Louisiana. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Burial services will follow at Combre Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Fondel Memorial Funeral Home.
