Margaret Mae Tatum-Davis, 63, was born Margaret Mae Lucas on February 19, 1960 to Juline Lucas in Independence, LA. She was later adopted by Audrey Montgomery-Tatum and Felix Tatum.

Margaret grew up in Ponchatoula, LA. She accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Good Hope Baptist Church in Ponchatoula, LA. Margaret graduated from Ponchatoula High School in 1978. She was married on three separate occasions and from those unions, she leaves to cherish six daughters, Audrey Cooper-Williams (John) of Dallas, TX, Mercedee Levias of Lake Charles, LA; Amanda Richardson of Dallas, TX; Mary Richardson of Lake Charles, Sholanda Richardson of New Orleans, LA, and Chiquita Richardson of Lake Charles, LA.

Margaret would later marry the love of her life, Roy Davis, on February 14, 2003 in Lake Charles, LA. From this union, Margaret gained a bonus daughter, Sparkle (Shahron) Prater. She then moved to Lake Charles in 2003 and stayed until her departure. Roy and Margaret enjoyed many happy blissful years together until his passing on October 28, 2022. Margaret worked at Goodies Clothing store for many years until it closed. As a result of her loyalty and hard work, the General Manager asked her to follow him to Kohls. Margaret worked at Kohl's for many years until she fell ill. While working at Goodies and Kohl's, she would meet what would become her best friends who we are honored to call Aunt Vanessa and Aunt Chris. She also enjoyed riding the Lake Charles city bus with her good friend Mrs. Joyce. Margaret was a faithful member of Joyful Praise Ministries under the leadership of Bishop and Prophetess Bellow where she sang in the choir and served as an usher. Margaret will be greatly remembered by her faithfulness and love for our heavenly Father and her sweet and loving spirit.

Margaret Mae Tatum-Davis leaves to cherish her memories and wisdom to her daughters. Brothers, Willie Leotis Tatum of Aurora, Colorado, Peter Lucas of Henryetta, Oaklahoma, William Scott Jr. of New Orleans, LA; and Tommy Joseph of Ponchatoula, LA. Goddaughters, Yolanda Meshell Roberts of Houston, TX, Amy Davis-Jones of Hammond, LA. A special niece, Jyvon (Willie) Toney of Independence, LA. Eighteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mothers, Juline Lucas and Audrey Montgomery-Tatum; father, Felix Tatum; husbands, Charlie Tate and Roy Davis; sisters, Linda Williams and Carolyn Lucas; brother, Epson Wilson; Great grandchildren, Mason Williams and Ky'sten Durgan; and good friend, Lois Honeycutt.
