Martha Ann Seymore Archinard was born December 4, 1939 in Natchitoches Louisiana. Raised in the country, along Cane River, she developed a love for fishing, nature and reading. She loved to learn. A first generation college graduate. She pursued a career in education and received her Bachelor's degree from Southern University in Baton Rouge Louisiana. After having her first child, she received a Masters in Education at McNeese State University in Lake Charles Louisiana. She was an educator and taught Science, Biology and Physics in the Calcaseu Parish School system for over 42 years. Many of her students have gone on to become doctors, lawyers, engineers, business owners, and notable politicians. She loved sports, fishing, time with her children and grandchildren. She constantly kept her mind sharp keeping up with the latest technology and enjoyed staying in touch and up to date with her students on Gmail, Facebook and Instagram.

She believed in the importance of education and held high expectations for her children. She always beamed with pride in the accomplishments of her children.

Her son and first born, Chris Archinard, was only the second male in the family to graduate from college with a Bachelor's of Science in physical education and recreational therapy,  he was a college football player and became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha at Grambling State University. He has worked as a Head football coach in Dallas Tx as well as Head golf coach at Lagrange High School before his retirement in the Calcasieu Parish school system.

Her second child a daughter. Dr Tommeka Archinard MD, MBA is a medical doctor, board certified emergency physician and also has a Masters in Business Administration. She was also a scholarship college athlete in basketball and track at Tulane University in New Orleans, where she received her Bachelor's degree in cellular and molecular biology and became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha. She received her medical degree at Wake Forest University and Masters in Business at Auburn University. She is currently holds the position as the Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at the University of Maryland Capital Region. In keeping with the tradition of education, she also holds an academic title at University of Alabama and University of Maryland as an Associate Professor and oversees the 56 medical residents at her facilities.

Martha was married 60 years to Thomas Archinard also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha and retired educator and past principal in the Calcasieu Parish School system.

She leaves her legacy in all of us. Loving and accepting all as they are. To quote her" You are all right the world is all wrong!"

She is survived by her husband Thomas her son Chris, daughter Tom-meka, 6 grandchildren. Mahogany, granddaughter who is a musician and educator in Houston TX. Troy, grandson who proudly serves our country in the Army and is deployed in Korea. Jaedyn, 20 year old granddaughter who was a nationally ranked gymnast, the first female pole vaulter at Howard University and is studying to become a doctor. Justice 11 year old grandson, Monroe 11 year old grand daughter and Blaine 7 year old grandson.
