Mary Margaret Moore affectionately known as "Tootie" was born on Tuesday, October 17, 1967 to Mary Ellen O'Brien and Bennie Moore Sr. Mary was a 1985 graduate of Washington Marion High School. While in high school Mary was a cheerleader and cheer captain. She also played softball for the Stars with Goosport Park Rec. Mary held several jobs through the years. She worked at Weiner's and Taco Bell. For the last 26 years she worked diligently as a custodian for McNeese State University and most recently she joined the staff of Moriah's Christian Preschool and served there for 2 years. Mary enjoyed decorating for family events and traveling with her family. Mary was a true New Orleans Saints fan. Above all else Mary's greatest joy was being a mother to her two children.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ellen O'Brien and Bennie Moore Sr., grandparents Octavia and Howard O'Brien, two brothers David Roland Prude Sr. and Bennie Moore Jr., one brother-in-law Horace Joseph Latigue, and three nephews Jamal Moore, Christopher "Lil Chris" Moore, and Justin Briscoe. On Sunday, July 20, 2025 Mary departed this earthly life.
She leaves to cherish her memory two loving children, Braylon James Moore and Jazmin Breon Moore, two sisters Myrtle Latigue and Mary (Robert) DeBoest, one brother Andrew Christopher Moore, six aunts Lillian Simon, Sally Smith, Helen (Melvin) Jordan, Barbara (Wilford) Semien, Cynthia Alexander, and Irma McBride, one uncle Michael O'Brien Sr. four nieces Marion Moore, Kelvisha Briscoe, Tamika Selders, and Crystal Moore, three nephews, Michael Prude, Herman Pete, and David Prude Jr., five godchildren Kelvisha Briscoe, India Irvine, Michael Prude, Dylan Mosley, Ayden Plumber, one adopted godchild A'Randee Bias, along with a hosts of aunts, uncles, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
