Mary Octavia Richard passed away on Dec 7, 2025. She was born in Mowater, LA., Where she attend school and began to love gardening.

Mary had 8 siblings Juanita Wilridge of Gardina, CA, Paul Citizen of Eunice LA, Margret Ree of Grand View, MO, Anthony Wilbert Citizen of Eunice, LA, Cheryl Hammock of Palmdale, CA and proceed in death by Terry Citizen, Maudry Bellard and Early Ray Joseph Citizen.

She became a resident of Lake Charles, LA in 1968 where she was a faithful servant of Jehovah for 55 years attending the North Congregation Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah's Witness. She was married for 46 years to Joesph Murphey Richard who passed in June of 2005. They had 6 children Linda (Cornelle)Penn Columbus, GA, Rachel (Rodney) Pete and Mark Richard. Proceed in death Gary Richard, Brenda Broussard and Patty Richard along with 2 grand kids Antionette Broussard and Gary Goodley.

She had a long employment history in health care where she recently retired with 20 year at Matin De Porres and 34 years at Grand Cove Nursing Home. She also really enjoyed being with her 9 Grand kids Tamika Wiltz, LaQuana Richard, Adonna Richard Columbus, GA, Phil Richard, Sean Penn Columbus, GA, Cory Penn Columbus, GA, Ebony Richard of Orange, TX, Desiree' (KC) Britton of San Antonio, TX and Gabrielle LeBlanc of San Antonio,T and 23 Great Grand kids.

She love to work in her gardens and was very kind to share all the things she gr with friends and family. She enjoyed listening and playing music on her piano, dancing at gatherings. She enjoyed sharing the word of Jehovah with everyone she met. She will be dearly missed by many.

The Richard family would like to give a special thanks to Christus Ochsners St Patricks hospital, Grand Cove Rehabilition Center and Memorial Wound Care CIinic on Imperial Blvd. Also a special thanks to Fondel Memorial Chapel

Her service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 100 Carpenter Rd Lake Charles, LA 70615 on Monday,15 December. Viewing will be  9 am -11 AM, service 11 AM. Dismissal - Combre Memorial Park
