Funeral service for Mary Jean Thomas Strahan, 64, will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Holiness Christ Believers Church, 440 Hwy 104, Oberlin, LA. 70655 (Soileau, LA). Rev. Milton Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery under the direction of Fondel Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be 9-11 AM in the church.

Mrs. Strahan departed this life on Sunday, October 18, 2015 in her residences in Basile, LA. Born in Lafayette, LA, she lived most of her life in Elton, LA. She was a member of Holiness Christ Believers Church where she was a Missionary for many years. She was a very loving, honest, caring, respectful and self-giving person serving the religious needs of our community. She was dedicated to her family and serving God.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories her husband; David Lee Strahan, Sr.; four daughters: Maria Strahan, Larisa Strahan, Lisa Strahan, Caroline Strahan; one son: David Lee Strahan, Jr.; five sisters: Judy Trahan, Joyce Edwards, Stella (Clifford August), Dora (Arthur) Lewis and Betty Thomas; three brothers: Billy (Beverly) Thomas, Jeffery Thomas and Aubrey (Elaine) Thomas; fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Octave and Mildred Balket Thomas; siblings; Margaret Brown, Gloria Alfred and daughter, Lena Strahan.
