Oliver Joseph (Joe) Pete was born to the union of George and Adlean Pete on January 24, 1963. He graduated from Washington High School in 1983. His hobbies were fixing cars and listening to Zydeco music.

He leaves to cherish his love and memories his wife, Christine Pete; two sons, Jodi Jirard Pete-Fobbs of New Iberia, LA and Joshua Angel Pete of Lake Charles, LA; two daughters, Marie Harris and Gail Dugar both of Lake Charles, LA; one brother, Terry Lynn Pete of Lake Charles, LA; three sisters, Jacqueline (Leroy) Lucus of Helena, AL, Uylanda (Baby Jerry) Pete and Ruby (Derrick) Pete both of Lake Charles, LA; his loving children, Jordyn Symone Jones, Jolie Skye Fobbs, and Jorja Sylest Fobb all of New Iberia, LA, Bryshawn Dugar, Bryniesha Dugar, Brynaisha Dugar, Keanga Jones, Myranesha Harrison, and Audreana Harrison all of Lake Charles, LA; his uncle, Joseph August of Lake Charles, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Adlean August Pete.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 11 a.m. in Fondel Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will be held in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Fondel Memorial Chapel.
