Funeral services for Roy Chester McClanahan, 30, of 828 N. Lyons St., will be at 8 p.m. today, Feb. 28, in Fondel Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Harvey Lawson will officiate.
The body will be taken to Alto where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday,
March 2, in Adile Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A wake will be held from 6 p.m. until time of service today, in the funeral home.
Mr. McClanahan died at 4:59 a.m. Thursday in a Shreveport hospital.
À native of Monroe, he had lived in Lake Charles for several years. He was a member and usher at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. He attended Louisiana Tech and. McNeese State University and was employed as supervisor of Fondel Ambulance Service prior to his illness.
Survivors are one daughter, Marla Rochelle Lastrapes of Lake Charles; six stepsisters, Martha Rosa Fondel of Lake Charles, Christy and Barbara Schoby, and Christal and Windy Bluitt, all of South Bend, Ind., and Mrs. Cheryl Evans of Dallas; two brothers, Paul Leonard and Raymond Marvin Fondel Jr., both of Lake Charles; his stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Fondel of Lake Charles; his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Huey Schoby of South Bend; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Steward McClanahan of Rayville, and paternal grandmother, Mrs.
Rosa Fondel of Lake Charles.
