For over 12 years, Shirley Hartman faithfully served as a greeter at Glad Tidings International Church of God in Christ in Hayward, California, welcoming countless individuals with a warm smile, a kind word, and a heart full of love. Rain or shine, she stood at the door not just as a volunteer, but as a living example of Christ's love and hospitality.

Shirley Hartman had a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and at home. Whether it was a firm handshake, a cheerful "Good morning," or a simple hug, her presence set the tone for worship and reminded us of all that we belong.

Beyond just being a greeter, Shirley was a friend, encourager, and steady presence in our community. She sent all the birthday, anniversary, and encouragement cards to the Sanctuary Greeters until 2019. Shirley also arranged for our banner to be made and purchased for the greeters to use at the summer festivals.

While we grieve her passing, we also celebrate a beautiful life lived in service to others. Shirley Hartman leaves behind a legacy of kindness and faithfulness that will continue to inspire us.
