Shirley Marie LaSalle was born in Patterson, Louisiana on February 20, 1943 to Alnetta Augustine and Evry Henry Walls, Sr. Shirley gained her wings while at home on April 21, 2024 surrounded by her family.

She and her family moved from Patterson to Cameron, Louisiana and in 2005 they made their home in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Shirley attended Ebenezer Baptist Church in Cameron, Louisiana. She worked as a laundry attendant. She liked working on puzzles and fishing. She also enjoyed cooking.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard LaSalle; children, Leonard (Teeky) LaSalle; brothers, Nathan Walls, Charles Walls, and Brian Walls.

Cherishing her memory are her children, Wayne LaSalle, Debrah Levy, Chyrl LaSalle, Steven LaSalle, Sr. (Nira), John Carter, II (Lakeyta), and Al Bartie. Brothers, Evry Walls, Jr. Evry James Walls, Mark Walls, and Gary Walls. Sisters, Cecile Walls Jones, Hattie Mae Walls, and Sherry Walls; She is also survived by her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and a host of cousins.
