Teri Denise Lindsay Fobbs was born October 5,1949 in Greenville, Mississippi, the third-born of five children from the union of Louie Lindsay Sr. and LaVerne Gardner Lindsay. At an early age she accepted the call to Christ and began a wonderful life. She was baptized by Rev. Matthews at Mt. Horeb Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of the choir, attended Sunday school, red circle boys and girls club and participated in many of the Mt. Horeb Easter and Christmas Programs.
Teri attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, Julia L. Armstrong Elementary School, and Coleman Junior-Senior High School. She was a member of the Coleman High Glee Club. She graduated from Coleman High in 1967. Following high school, Teri attended Alcorn A & M University, the U.S. Peace Corps and McNeese State University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management and was matriculating towards a master's degree in business. She became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc in 1999. Additionally, she had such an innate gift for the Arts. She was a gifted drawing artist, became a licensed cosmetologist and a cosmetology trained teacher.
She began her career as a telephone operator in Rockford, it is where she assisted customers for many years. She transferred her operator position and relocated to Saginaw, MI and Pittsburgh, PA. to work for Bell Telephone Company. Subsequently, Teri worked in the automotive industry for General Motors Corporation until she became ill in 1979. A daughter of God, Teri's unwavering faith and resilience guided her through a challenging illness as a young adult. Emerging healed and stronger, her journey of perseverance and gratitude not only inspired her siblings and family but also showcased the power of her belief and standing firm on God's unchanging hand
Over the years, she continued her career with employment at Delta Community Mental Health Services, Gloria Darden Center and Washington County Fourth Circuit Drug Court Greenville, MS. and State of Louisiana Probation and Parole Office in Lake Charles, LA.
In 1981, Teri was blessed with the birth of Taylor Tanille. Teri and Taylor lived in Saginaw, Mi for several years before relocating to Greenville, MS, Houston, TX and to Lake Charles, LA where she married, Lionel Fobbs.
Teri's love for the Lord and her family shone brightly through her actions as a member of Refuge Temple Ministries in Lake Charles, LA. In the realm of Administrative Services, she found her calling, uplifting others with a blend of laughter and prayer. Ter's genuine nature, marked by honesty and a vibrant personality, effortlessly connected her with a multitude of individuals who cherished her for simply being herself. At Refuge Temple, she was not just a colleague but a beacon of positivity and support, embodying the true essence of community spirit. She touched the hearts of many.
She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, cousin, godmother, and friend. She will be remembered and forever loved by her daughter, Taylor Tanille Lindsay Cousin (Brandon) of Lake Charles, LA; Sisters, Dr. Tamara Lindsay Roberts of Tuscaloosa, AL (Carla Jeter and Gary Roberts); Brenda Lindsay Estes (Will) of Atlanta, GA (Tiffany Courtney-Graham and Allyson Jones); Dr. Lisa Lindsay Wicker (Michael) of Charlotte, NC (Justin Wicker and Jonathan Wicker); Brother, Louie Lindsay Jr. (Cassandra) of Dallas, TX (Louis Lindsay Ill, Bryan Lindsay, Kimbernyce Lindsay, Roderick Lindsay); Cousins, Gaynell Marie Gladney of Dallas, TX (Jonathan Gladney): Charles Gladney of Pittsburgh, PA (Victoria Lewis, Charles F. Gladney); Frederick Gladney II (Julie) of Los Angeles, CA (Courtney Harris and Frederick Gladney III, Corine Hayes and Kerrie Hall); Jacqueline Gladney of Pittsburgh, PA (Alexander Gladney); Clyde Moore Jr. of Jackson, MS. (Clyde Moore III); William Moore (Patricia) of Dallas TX. (William Moore II, Cory Allen and Terre Coleman-Gibson); Tawnya Moore-McGee (Micheal of Atlanta, GA (Lauryn McGee and Micheal McGee); Phyliss Townsend of Greenville, MS (Jennifer Belton and Courtney Belton); William Townsend of Greenville, MS. Teri was preceded in death by her father, Louie Lindsay Sr. and her mother, LaVerne Gardner Lindsay Stewart.
