Dorothy Gene Williams was born on October 27, 1945, in Welsh, Louisiana, to Adam and Burley Johnson.
She received her early education at HC Ross High School, Crowley, Louisiana, and later attended McNeese State University, where she continued her education and personal growth. During her college years, Dorothy was a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, reflecting her lifelong commitment to sisterhood, service, and leadership.
Family meant everything to Dorothy. She cherished time spent with those she loved and took great pride in supporting and nurturing her family through every season of life. Her guidance, love, and strength created a foundation that will continue for generations.
Dorothy was a woman whose presence brought comfort, wisdom, and warmth to all who knew her. She was known for her caring spirit, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones, always placing others before herself. Her kindness and generous heart touched many lives and will be remembered fondly by all who had the honor of knowing her.
She transitioned peacefully on February 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family. Dorothy Gene Williams will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on through the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Burley Johnson, and her sister, Brenda Marie Richardson.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted husband, James Glinnie Williams Jr.; children: James Glinnie Williams, III (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) and Stephanie Renee Semien (Lake Charles, Louisiana); grandchildren: Danyel Lesean Williams and Sienna Williams (Newark, Ohio), and Courtney Renee Semien, James Semien Jr., and Christopher Semien (Lake Charles, Louisiana); sister: Audrey Johnson (Jaime Sr.) (Augusta, Georgia) and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
